Let this be the first of many blogs, here goes!
With Halloween just around the corner it was bedlam in an all girl’s school.
The bitching and cat fights over who would have the sluttiest costume were
unbearable. "What are you going as?" was the question on everyone’s
lips hoping to hear that it was something to do with short skirts, skin tight Lycia
and a low cut bust line.
"A ZOMBIE!" I scream it at the top of my lungs, "I mean...
something definitely dead." An unnatural silence came over the room full
of bleach blonde Barbie wanna bees. The shocked facial expressions were
something to laugh at.
Off course this isn't what actually happened, exaggeration is a wonderful
thing. Seriously though, even though I am only 16 there is quite a lot pressure on
me to be going out to the local night clubs, not that it isn't fun, how could it
not be? Dancing, loud music, lots of boys, alcohol, did I mention boys? Plus
there's the rush of doing something you know you shouldn't. But Halloween is
the one night a year were girls can dress in the trampiest costumes and not be
looked down upon. This is why I am going as a zombie. Plus if I tried to go in
any sort of Lycia costume it would probably be even scarier than going as a zombie!
Where has the meaning of Halloween gone? The scary stories, the creepy costumes
and a night filled with expectable frights, plus the sweets. Last time I
checked, dressing up as a crayola crayon wasn't something to give you
nightmares about, unless you're a crack head or you're on something stronger.
I have been working on quite a few bits and pieces for my zombie costume.
This mainly includes the horrifying cuts and gashes normally attained by living
the undead lifestyle.
Do not worry, these are not real, they are made out of PVA glue, Toilet
roll, fake blood, foundation and black eye liner, just in case your monitor
isn't the best and you think I'm into cutting myself for sport. No, nothing
like that, just harmless, gruesome fun for Halloween.
So I haven’t quite worked out how to put the pictures side by side,
definitely isn't as easy as it seems. I must apologize about the larger gash
that I made for my arm as I made it out of blue tissue paper instead of toilet
roll and I used acrylic paints instead of my foundation (which I used on my
slit wrist) and there was no fake blood available.
What d'ya think? Good eh? Well I certainly like them and I am planning to do
a large gash on my neck and a few bullet holes on my head using the same method
for Halloween night!
It's getting late. I guess that's the end of my first ever blog! Now to
spell check it, haha. Good night!
